New Expansion Announced

It would appear that there's a new expansion on the horizon. Dragons of Norrath has been announced. Here's a summary of what's coming:

New Zones, Creatures and Content - From Lavastorm to the Thundercrest Isles adventure in graphically enhanced zones with all new themes. Brave challenging new quests, discover new treasures, and battle new NPCs including drakes, goblins, and fierce dragons.

New Interactive World Map - A full-color interactive map of the world allows players to point-and-click from a world view, to a continent view, to a zone view of the traditional line maps.

Player Barter System - Allows players to set up their own automated trading method! Offer up your own items or coin for other items.
Potion Belt - Allows for quick use of inventory items, such as potions or magical devices.

Bandolier Equip - Lets your character quickly equip multiple sets of weapons accessible by a single mouse click.

New spells and Tradeskill Recipes

All-New Guild Halls - Individual instanced Guild Halls for guild members to meet and prepare for playing. Includes the following features and benefits:

Guild Bank - Bank slot for storage of items accessible by all members of a guild. Place items on reserve for officers or specific members.

Mana/health Regen Pool - Allows players to easily regenerate their mana and health in preparation for battle (available only at the Guild Hall).

Mass Corpse Summoning Altar - Allows guilds to summon guild corpses en masse to the altar room after a wipe out.

Guild Portal - Allows guild members to purchase the ability to have a persistent port to pre-determined areas around the world.

Guild Tradeskill Objects - Various tradeskill tools are located in the guild hall for easy access by guild members.

Guild 'Looking for Members' Tool - Allows guilds to recruit by placing persistent “ads” on bulletin boards, search for player characters who match guild criteria and send in-game emails to those members.

Players 'Looking for Guild' Tool - Allows players to find guilds recruiting members.

Buff Timers - In the Guild Halls buff times can be paused for Guild Members.

All I can say is that it does look rather entertaining. Can't wait to see the new guild houses. I will admit though. The Guild Corpse Summoning pretty well puts us out of work in that department. If you want to discuss the new expansion, I've put a new topic in our forum. Click Here to join in the discussion.

We're Back Online

The stories of our demise have been greatly exaggerated. But we’re back here at The Necromancer’s Realm. There’s a good bit of explaining to do, and I’d prefer not to clutter up the front page with a huge explanation. If you want to find out what happened, click here. And as always, thanks for visiting The Necromancer’s Realm.

Website Outage

As I'm sure, most of you are aware, the webserver here went down yesterday at about 11:00PM EST. Sadly, the reason for this outage is because the hard disk running the server crashed and burned. Thankfully I've restored the server from backups, and little to no data was lost in the process. I apologize for any inconvenience. I'm working to get a new server to replace the current one, but it is slow going. In the meantime, enjoy the site, and hopefully no more problems like that will occur again in the near future.

Patch Coming on Wednesday

Fresh from the EQ Live website:
We have an update tentatively scheduled for April 28th.

This update should have a lot of exciting and fun additions to the world of EQ including;

A new storybook for you to follow to peruse.

We will be moving a new adventure zone to Legends (the adventure zone currently on Legends should move to live as well).

Brenlo the Updated

Sounds entertaining. As soon as we get an official start time, and total downtime, we'll give an update.

Graveyard Zone Shadowrest Now Live

According to the patch message today, the new graveyard zone Shadowrest went into the game today. The idea behind this zone is to prevent loss of items and corpses after 7 days. In order to retreive your corpse from Shadowrest you have to zone in by talking to scattered NPC's over Norrath. Here's the message from the patch:
The Graveyard zone, Shadowrest, is now live!

We have introduced the new graveyard zone, Shadowrest, to the live servers. The zone will allow adventurers whose corpse has decayed, after 7 days, to retrieve it. They will merely have to greet the appropriate NPC in one of the following zones to activate their transport to Shadowrest;

East Commonlands
The Plane of Knowledge
Toxxulia Forest
Qeynos Hills
The Feerrott
Butcherblock Mountains
The Field of Bone
Shadeweavers Thicket
Misty Thicket

We hope you enjoy this new addition to EverQuest!

The EverQuest Team

Looks pretty good to me. It could be the perfect opportunity for necromancers to make a little cash on the side summoning and locating old corpses, as this zone is probably going to be filled with 'em.

Well, guess that means that the Casino's going to be even more packed.

Today's Patch Message

Very few updated things in todays patch. Most notably, however, is the return of the much talked about Casino in Shadow Haven. Is it just me, or is all this talk of golden tickets making you want to rush out and grab up a copy of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Maybe the gnomes will play the part of Oompa Loompa's. The patch message can be found here.
